this series, posted weekly on Fridays, brings you poems, stories & art by a younger shannon. today’s is from 1979, age 9. we lived in Freeport, Texas and had lived in 4 homes since my mother and I had moved from NY state a year and a half earlier to join my father & brother. my parents had separated, divorced, moved back in together & separated again. both of them remarried at some point in 1979, and I had two new step-parents.
