hello everyone!
I hope your summer has been filled with light in more ways than one.
I am writing to let you know that I’ll be taking a break from posting both here and on patreon until the autumnal equinox.
there’s lots more to come, but between writing, photography archival projects, inaturalist archiving, and multiple other indoor (many of them computer-oriented) projects — and then both substack & patreon — I’m spending waaaaay too much time inside when I could be enjoying this amazing weather — and the incredible photo opportunities that summer & fall present!
so in an attempt to curate my time & attention, regular posting will be postponed.
I also kinda love it that my last (for now) published post is the poem ‘A Quarter’ I wrote for Vince, for our 25th wedding anniversary. the calligraphy was a labour of love, and it’s made me rethink the way I create & produce just about everything.
trust me, I have a ton of material for the ‘past promises’ series. and, I can only hope, with more time outdoors, that the conduit will be opened for more poetry to arise & share with you all, too.
until then, I will leave you with this simple video moment spent with a pearl crescent (Phyciodes tharos) butterfly yesterday - because -none of this- would be possible without these moments…
see you in late September! many blessings. xoxo
